Activities at Naniboujou Lodge

Welcome Bonfire on Friday Nights:

Gather down at the beach to enjoy a bonfire overlooking Lake Superior! It’s already built for you, just stop at the front desk to get matches to light it.

Stargazing on the Deck:

Our telescope will highlight the southern and northern sky and give you an opportunity to learn about constellations, stars, planets, etc. Take the pre-programmed tour called “Tonight’s Best” to view the best objects in the sky for that day.

Naniboujou Storytelling Varied Evenings:

Learn the rich history of Naniboujou and peruse through artifacts of a time gone by. We might also surprise you with other historical information about our area. Themed Backpacks are available to enhance your outdoor experience. Each backpack will include binoculars, field guides, and other equipment pertinent to the field of study. The following themed backpacks may be checked out at the front desk:  Birds up North, Animals of the North Woods, Local Fauna and Flora, Rock Hounding and Stargazing.

Also available on property is basketball hoops, horseshoe pit, and bocce ball.

“Mindful” Paddling and Hiking Tours hosted by Points Unknown:

What are “Mindful” Paddling and Hiking Tours? Not paddling hard or fast, or slinging the heaviest pack on your back, but being present to the experience; taking time in nature to see, hear, smell, taste and feel along the way. Slow things down; bring your camera, and be willing to be dazzled. Check out Points Unknown for more information.
